Awareness and use of strategic communication in managing herdsmen-farmers crises in selected media houses in Nigeria
This study awareness and use of strategic communication for reporting the conflict between farmers and herdsmen in Nigeria. The study answered three research questions and tested two hull hypotheses. Survey research design was used for the study. A total of 201 journalists were purposely selected from three states of the Federation. In the analysis of data for the study, simple percentages, mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while correlation was used to test the hypotheses raised. The result showed low awareness of strategic communication as well as low use. The result of the hypotheses testing also showed that awareness of strategic communication component slike Information operations, psychological operations and public diplomacy and use significantly correlate. The implications of the results on conflict reporting has also be examined.
