Teacher Assessment of Quality Control in Secondary School Administration in South-South Nigeria
Implications for Administrative Communication
This paper investigated the assessment of quality control among secondary school teachers in south-south Nigeria. A survey of 18 secondary schools was done. Schools were selected from the six states of the south- south zone. The study aimed at ascertaining the level of wastage in various areas of secondary schools in the south-south; the structures for effective quality control in school administration in secondary schools in South-south Nigeria, and teacher perceptions of quality control capacities of school administrators in South-South Nigeria. The study found out that teachers scored administrators moderate in quality control in all the indices raised except classroom provision, which was scored high. There was, however, observed inconsistency in scoring. The study recommended that teachers should be trained on issues about quality control to be able to make suggestions to their administrators, and also be equipped to rate quality control in their institutions.
